A message from The founder: Kapua Browning
Aloha, My name is Kapua Browning and I am the Founder of our Hawaiian 'Ohana owned business, Honua Skincare. I have been an esthetician for 20 years and formulating skincare for 15. Honua officially started in 2015, when the demand for my Hawaiian plant crafted products grew beyond my facial treatment room in Pālolo Valley where I grew up. Our 'Ohana grew up using both Chinese plant medicine and Hawaiian Lā'au for our main source of healing, so when I became an esthetician I really wanted to look at skincare the same way I had looked at healing most of my life; Using plants to treat the root cause of skin concerns. Honua does just this. We use both Hawaiian (native and non-native) plants as well as other medicinal (non Hawaiian) plants to treat the root of all skin concerns. What started as a passion of mine has grown quite a bit, thanks to all of YOU. Honua is now shared in homes around the world. FROM SOIL, TO SKIN TO SOUL
SOIL: Honua means Earth, Land or Foundation. Taking care of our earth, our home, or our 'āina is truly the heart of our company. From ingredient sourcing to packaging choices along with our community outreach and support, we are always looking for ways that we can continue to give back to both our 'āina and our Hawaiian community. Honua strives to support the growth of our Hawaiian ecosystem and agriculture in a positive and impactful way. We have been in business now for just over a decade and I am proud to say that we are already seeing an impact. Not only are we supporting local/Hawaiian farms, but we have contributed to the reforestation of native plants, have helped to pay for interns at Hawaiian lo’i (taro patches), donate to many Hawaiian culture based and immersion schools, we hold beach cleanups to remove tons of trash from our coastlines and participate in reforestation and native planting events. Walking the walk and making an impact is important to us, its our kuleana.
SKIN.. my next favorite topic. What really drives me as an esthetician is the transformation and success that our customers have with our products and the joy they get from using them. Honua was created to give impactful results to everyone, while using the cleanest and most powerful plant based ingredients.
Last but not least SOUL… our message of ALOHA which is shared in each and every box is sent worldwide and is being received, and shared. My uncle Moe Keale shared with me the true meaning of ALOHA as a child and it has been my mission to share it globally. So to hear from customers worldwide how our message of ALOHA has impacted them, really is a testimony to how contagious the ALOHA spirit is! So let's all live it and share it, our world needs it more than ever.

EARTH, LAND, FOUNDATION Mama Honua (Mother Earth) is the heart of our company and where our botanicals are born. Our products are filled with Hawaiian botanical magic, so we decided to give credit to the true creator of our skincare line.
ALOHA DAILY Honua offers a new experience in skincare. Our daily facial ritual not only transforms skin, but allows customers to experience a touch of aloha daily. From formulation to production, we incorporate the spirit of aloha and it shows in our products. We share this special message on the inside of every Honua box so that our customers can also incorporate aloha in to their daily lives. The “Honua Glow” is contagious and is attributed to both the daily care of the skin and soul!
TRADITIONAL WISDOM: FROM THE ROOT Our innovative products combine traditional Hawaiian healing botanicals and methodologies, with modern skincare technology. Focusing on the root cause of major skin conditions, we have developed a single line for all skin types.
THE LĀ’AU Our “lā’au” or Hawaiian healing botanicals, are the reason we are able to effectively treat the skin without the use of lab created chemicals. Some of these superstars are, ‘Olena, Noni, Alo Alo, Kukui, Kamani, Kalo, Wai Niu, ‘Awa and Laukahi. These skin loving lā’au are filled with vitamins, minerals phytonutrients and fatty acids, and are some of the most potent antioxidants available. We believe that some of the magic also lies in the soil where these plants are grown, so our ingredients are sourced from as many Hawai‘i farms as possible.
