The Honua Ritual
Here is our step-by-step Hawaiian Ritual for you to recreate for yourself night after night after night. Lots of Aloha to you ~ Kapua
The Pa’akai Cleansing Cream
Apply 1-2 pumps of the Pa’akai Cleansing Cream in the palm of your hand. Rub hands together and lomi (massage) gently over dry skin on face and décolleté. Wet your hands and continue to massage. Take a deep cleansing breath to fully experience the scents of rose and hibiscus, and feel gratitude to yourself for taking this first step. Rinse gently with lukewarm water or you may choose to leave on for 10-15 minutes as a gentle mask. Rinse until face is clean and soft.
The Hawaiian Beauty Water
Our Hawaiian Beauty Water, also known as the Hawaiian Glow Tonic, is a gentle exfoliator containing both papaya enzymes and Hawaiian Kō (sugar). Saturate a reusable cotton round with 2-3 pumps of the Hawaiian Beauty Water and wipe gently across forehead, down nose, across cheeks and chin. Turn cotton pad over and repeat as needed.
The Aloha Youth Serum
Apply 1-2 pumps of the Aloha Youth Serum to palms and lomi (massage) face and décolleté using long strokes. Breath deeply and appreciate the calming scent the elixir offers. The Serum provides calming moisture in a creamy potion, without being oily. Allow to penetrate and do not rinse.
The ‘Ōlena Oil
‘Ōlena is the source of our Honua Glow. Apply 2-3 drops of the ‘Ōlena Oil and repeat the facial massage technique of the Aloha Youth Serum. Be generous with the oil in areas of inflammation, scarring or extreme dryness. The ‘Ōlena Oil is also an excellent skin healer and can be used all over the body to help skin recover and heal (and we do mean, all over).
Malu Protecting Day Cream
Finish off with some protection, which we recommend EVERY day. During the day, finish with Malu and show your skin some appreciation by lathering it with all over moisture with SPF 30 protection that is broad spectrum, reef-safe and completely free of chemical sunscreens. We recommend 2-3 pumps to spread across your face and décolleté or anywhere skin is visible.
The Moana and ‘Āina Masks
Immediately after cleansing, scoop about a teaspoon sized amount of either mask and apply to face using either a brush or fingers. Leave on for at least 5 minutes and for as long as you desire. We recommend 20-30 minutes as it allows the botanicals to truly penetrate but any amount of time is beneficial. ‘Āina provides detoxication and brightening, and may be used as a spot treatment overnight. Moana restores and heals skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Both masks rinse well in the shower too.
